• My experience with airlines has always been if the first flight on the same ticket is booked in business class, then the luggage allowance often carries through to subsequent connecting flights.Interestingly when I read the article I overlooked the fact it talked specifically about domestic trave...

  • 7kg is a tough call, especially given the weight of certain quality hand luggage and even more so if you are travelling business class. BA gets away with offering 23kg hand luggage allowance. I am not suggesting this and would totally endorse size restrictions, but something in the region of 10-14...

  • Looks roughly Range Rover Evoque size. Pleasant as a second car runabout (assuming you can afford it), but not practical in terms of medium/full size SUV luggage space

  • 10 of the Gatwick A320s were somewhat strangely all purchased second(or third) hand a few years back from a variety of different airlines, as a plan to speed up the withdrawal of the 737 fleet.

  • On flights of an hour or so, the seat is not much of an issue, but on three hour flights such as Malta, there is no fun in sitting like this. BA needs to consider some form of onboard entertainment offering too!

  • If flying economy, give me an Air New Zealand A320 any time. If Koru or FF, then seats on left hand side of plane offer more leg room, entertainment is good and drinks can be ordered from seat. Also far less people to board the plane than an A380. In business class, however I would rather take Em...

  • Practicalities aside, this might potentially open up flights to more regional NZ destinations such as Napier or Hamilton, where it is currently not cost effect to provide full immigration facilities.

  • QR will from Sydney, once the A380 starts flying there.

  • A nice position to be in. Take a look at Etihad and Qatar Airways for something completely different. Limos included I believe as well. Cathay Pacific is a safe option via Hong Kong, with great lounges. As three of you are flying together and may wish to chat, consider whether you need an airli...

  • Some interesting stuff and a lot of other stuff which would almost disappear unnoticed into a plumbers toobox. i do have a framed and mounted Concorde turbine blade from one of their Rolls Royce Olympus engines, signed by Captain Mike Bannister. Would be intersted what that might be worth?

  • Have been lucky to the past to ask for and get an amenity kit on this route in F, but no guarantees.

  • A little bit like blackmail, ie to get protection in the event of your airline or travel company going bust, you really need to pay by credit card. By paying the airline direct or by paying cash, you lose out on such protection. It was not so long ago that companies were prohbited from passing on...

  • On a recent return trip to Europe (4 flights) in J class, I received a welcome on one of the legs. Did not really bother me, but may help manage your expectations. (QF lifetime gold, Sapphire)

  • As at two weeks ago the Cathay lounge in Heathrow T3 was still under rennovation. The American Airline lounge (with Qantas access) used instead was a poor alternative.

  • Lounge Access for guests

Paul - Another option (at least for Australia) is to use complimentary Qatnas Club invites, which they seem to send out from time to time. Could mail you one, but probably would not reach you in time!
